CSSA Members and Self Storage Industry in California –
ISS “Best Of Business” voting has been launched.
CSSA has been working hard on your behalf to provide legislative protection, education/information, best practices, and networking opportunities.
Here is a summary of SOME of our successes this past year:
- Held 2 successful education and networking events – Annual Self Storage Owners Summit (had record attendance) and Napa Self Storage Owner’s Conference + THREE holiday gatherings (added San Diego)
- Added the Legal Help Center (LHC) as a NEW Member Benefit – CSSA members can receive FREE legal advice
- Offered multiple virtual training sessions –Sales & Service Training, Hiring & Retention, Labor Law Updates, Lien Laws, Interacting with the Homeless, ADA, etc.
- Held several “Peer Power Hour” owner discussions: Rate Management, Interest Rates/Financing, Technology in Your Operations, etc.
- Legislative oversight – supporting bills to improve or protect business, continue to work with coalitions to defeat non-business bills
- Local initiatives – worked to stop or modify local initiatives that increased taxes/fees for self storage operations – Richmond, Thousand Oaks, San Diego, Los Angeles, etc.
- Working on legislation to hopefully eliminate requirement for newspaper adivertising for liens
- Provided ongoing information (email alerts, website) regarding States of Emergencies and Price Gouging
- FREE labor law posters, membership decals plus online store with Lease Agreement, Lien Law, HR material, etc.
